Comment on "Nucleon-nucleon scattering lengths in QCD sum rules"
In a recent Letter [1], Kondo and Morimatsu present a QCD sum rule calculation of nucleon-nucleon scattering lengths. They also relate the empirical scattering lengths to the nucleon mass shift δM in nuclear matter to cast doubt on the " linear density approximation. " In this Comment, we point out flaws in both parts of their analysis. It is useful to start with the (nonrelativistic) optical p...
متن کامل-Nucleon Scattering Lengths from QCD Sum Rules
The QCD sum rule method is applied to derive a formula for the ρ, ω, φ meson-nucleon spin-isospin-averaged scattering lengths aρ,ω,φ. We found that the crucial matrix elements are 〈q̄γμDνq〉N (q = u, d) (twist-2 nucleon matrix element) for aρ,ω and ms〈s̄s〉N for aφ, and obtained aρ = 0.14 ± 0.07 fm, aω = 0.11 ± 0.06 fm and aφ = 0.035 ± 0.020 fm. These small numbers originate from a common factor 1/...
متن کاملHyperon-nucleon coupling from QCD sum rules
In understanding the dynamics of kaon-nucleon scattering or the strangeness content of the nucleon using hadronic models, it is important to know the hadronic coupling constants involving the kaons. Among them, gNKΛ and gNKΣ are the most relevant coupling constants. To determine these couplings using the QCD sum rules [1] one can follow two different approaches: a) the two-point function, where...
متن کاملDirect instantons in QCD nucleon sum rules.
We study the role of direct (i.e. small-scale) instantons in QCD correlation functions for the nucleon. They generate sizeable, nonperturbative corrections to the conventional operator product expansion, which improve the quality of both QCD nucleon sum rules and cure the long-standing stability problem, in particular, of the chirally odd sum-rule. 12.38.Lg, 14.20.Dh Typeset using REVTEX 1 QCD ...
متن کاملNew QCD Sum Rules for Nucleon Tensor Charge∗
Two new QCD sum rules for nucleon tensor charge are derived from a mixed correlator of spin-1/2 and spin-3/2 nucleon interpolating fields. These sum rules are analyzed along with a sum rule obtained from the usual correlator of a general spin-1/2 nucleon interpolating field. The validity and reliability of the sum rules are examined by monitoring the contaminations arising from the transitions ...
